Foundations of Acrylic Painting - Monday Afternoons: Fall II
Whether you are new to painting or continuing to develop your skills, this class offers structured instruction in both acrylic techniques and core artistic principles. Through guided projects, you'll explore value, color theory, composition, and perspective, with additional topics covering acrylic mediums and practical approaches to simplifying complex subjects. Projects may include still life, landscape, animals, abstraction, the human form, or copying a Master Work. Instructor Marlene brings a gentle, focused teaching style with hands-on demonstrations, visual references, and individualized guidance to support students at all experience levels. Already taken this class? Enroll in additional sessions to continue building your practice with new projects. Supply list available upon registration. Approximate supply cost, depending on materials already owned: $70.

Marlene was born in Brooklyn, New York and grew up in New Jersey. For the last few decades she has called the ‘north coast’ her home. She lives in Beachwood, Ohio with her husband, James Newman. Marlene retired from a 30 year health care career in 2012 and completed a BFA in Painting and Drawing from the University of Akron’s Myers School of Art in 2016.
