NEW! Plein Air Oil Painting - Friday Afternoons: Fall I
Take your painting practice outside. Plein air is the practice of painting outdoors, directly from the landscape in front of you. In this workshop, students will work directly from nature to capture light, atmosphere, and color in real time. With a focus on composition, scene simplification, color mixing, and color temperature, students will build observation skills and learn to work with confidence and speed. All while breathing in the fresh air. A supply list will be emailed at the time of registration. Approximate supply cost, depending on materials already owned: $175.

Amy Gibson, b. 1976 in Alliance Ohio. Amy received her B.F.A from the University of Akron in 1999. She currently teaches at Orange Art Center, Cuyahoga Valley Art Center in Cuyahoga Falls Ohio and Cameron Art Museum in Wilmington NC. Ten of her works are archived for the moon as part of the Lunar Codex Project. Her artwork has been featured in Fine Art Connoisseur and American Art Collector Magazine. She has shown in PTFN at the Wausau Museum of Contemporary Art, Teaching Artists at the Cameron Museum of Art, and her work is Internationally collected. She loves teaching and helping people reach their goals.
