Explore Historic MariettaDestination CLE & BeyondEmbark on an enriching historic excursion by boarding the Valley Gem for a narrated paddleboat tour complete with a boxed luncheon with a variety of choices. Following lunch, you and your group will participate in a guided city tour led by an experienced step-on guide. The itinerary then includes a visit to the Campus Martius Museum, where you will learn more about Ohio’s rich history. Subsequently, you will have a couple hours of leisure time for shopping and independent dining at one of the many conveniently located local venues. After dinner you will depart for home and recount the sights of the day with your fellow travelers. Your fee covers the boat tour and boxed luncheon, museum admission, guided tour of Marietta, and transportation. The bus driver and step-on guide gratuities are not included, however, we will pass an envelope for this purpose. Board deluxe transportation in the Pepper Pike Learning Center parking lot by 8 am. We offer something different each day for our Extreme Campers to enjoy! Join your friends for an awesome summer that’s packed with field trips on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. On Mondays and Fridays, campers will travel to local parks or beaches, then spend the rest of the day on Orange’s campus enjoying the nature trails, outdoor pool, and gym activities. Every Thursday is our extended field trip to our campers’ favorite locations. Campers will return to campus by 6 pm. These field trips are subject to change. No camp on June 19 and July 3. Please note, the week of July 6, the extended trip will be on Tuesday, July 7. Extreme Dodgeball (Gr. 2-5)Active FunCome join this fun and exciting extreme dodgeball class! This program provides students an opportunity to play the popular game in a safe and supervised environment. Our coaches will emphasize teamwork, cooperation, and proper sportsmanship. Each week will consist of different versions of dodgeball. Get ready to have a blast and make new friends in our after school extreme dodgeball class! Students attending Moreland Hills Elementary school must update their SDM notes to attend the program. Students without an updated note will not be able to ride the Rec Bus. Fall Flag Football LeagueFootballOCER Recreation Sports Leagues and Teams OCER provides elementary-aged and early middle school students with opportunities to participate in a variety of recreation-level sports. These leagues and teams are generally coached by parent volunteers with a focus on fair and equitable team participation. Athletes and parents can expect an atmosphere where everyone learns and everyone plays with moderate levels of competition **Registration for spring soccer, flag football, and baseball/softball programs will open for residents on December 2nd and nonresidents on December 5th. However, all dates and details are tentative and certainly subject to change. More information will be available in the Spring Brochure arriving in March.** Fall Flag Football League Grades 5 - 6 Get ready for an action-packed 5 weeks of fun and competitive games in our Flag Football League! This program is designed for 5th and 6th graders who want to continue to learn and improve their skills in the exciting game of flag football while competing. This league will be run “in-house” with all games being against other participants signed up with us in Orange. Jerseys are provided for each player. Participants will begin with a brief demonstration introducing basic handbuilding techniques, including scoring and slipping, coil, pinch, and slab construction, then work as a team to design and create one shared clay piece. If time and clay allow, families may also create a small keepsake using remaining clay as a lasting reminder of time spent creating together. All artwork will be fired after the workshop. Families are responsible for arranging pickup of finished work approximately 2 to 3 weeks after the workshop, and will be notified by email when pieces are ready. Fantastic Fine Art Camp Grades 3 - 5Art CampsWeek 1: Explore the timeless world of fine art with this OAC favorite (with new projects)! This beloved camp introduces students to famous artists, art movements, and classic techniques. Campers will try their hand at sculpture, painting, drawing, and more while learning about famous artists. In addition to hands-on artmaking, campers will enjoy stories and discussions about the history and impact of fine art. This camp is a celebration of creativity, learning, and self-expression! Campers will have a week full of artmaking but will also partake in exciting activities such as gameplay, storytime, snacktime, outdoor exploration, and making new friends. Art Camps are offered in two sessions at 9:00 -11:30 am and afternoons 12:30 - 3:00 pm each week. Interested in a full-day?
