Nature Explorers Art Camp Grades 3 - 5Art CampsWeek 3: We love Nature! In this returning OAC camp favorite, campers will connect with the great outdoors as they use natural materials to create stunning works of art. Projects will draw inspiration from environmental artists like Andy Goldsworthy. Campers will also engage in outdoor exploration, gathering materials and inspiration for their projects. With plenty of hands-on activities, this camp encourages creativity, a love of nature, and an appreciation for the environment. Campers will have a week full of artmaking but will also partake in exciting activities such as gameplay, storytime, snacktime, outdoor exploration, and making new friends. Inspired by the personhood and artistic teaching of OAC painting instructors Annie Peters and Marlene Weinstein, Garfunkel wanted to gift the OAC a donation to help establish a scholarship aiming to provide financial assistance to participants pursuing art education. Rooted in the belief that art brings healing and joy, the OAC Scholarship seeks to empower all individuals to explore their creativity and share the transformative power of art with the community! Whether volunteering to assist with summer camp, senior center activities or special events like Trunk or Treat, you'll have the opportunity to share your talents and gain valuable experience. See below to learn a little more about each of our volunteer opportunities: Adaptive Recreation Volunteer- This rewarding experience allows you to work one on one with children or adults with special needs. Available year-round, various days/times. Lions Club Volunteer- Love kids? Volunteer your time after school to play games, assist with homework, play outside and do fun projects with Kindergarten - 5th graders. Available afternoons M - F during the school year. Book Buddies Volunteer- For Orange High School students only. Work with our youngest preschool crew to help them learn letter sounds/names, reading comprehension, rhyming and more! Available afternoons during the school year. Broadway Buddies Volunteer- Share your love of the theatre with our "stars" in our award winning adaptive theatre program. Available year-round, various days/times. Coach- Lead our young athletes in your favorite sport/s to develop skills, confidence, and teamwork throughout a season. Available afternoons and weekends year-round. Recreation Specialist Assistant- Assist our talented afterschool/weekend instructors in implementing a variety of fun sports, theatre, art, academic, or recreational activities. Available afternoons and weekends during the school year. OCER Commission Member- For those interested in serving as an appointed community member that advocates, promotes and gives feedback to OCER. Available as positions become vacant- meetings are once a month in the evening, year-round. Orange Early Childhood Parent Volunteer- For families with children enrolled in Orange Early Childhood. Everything from chaperoning field trips to planning events or assisting in the classroom. Available during the school year. Orange Senior Center Volunteer- A variety of opportunities to assist the Senior Center team and engage in the community. Available year-round, please reach out to the Senior Center directly if interested. Scorekeeper/Referee- This valuable volunteer helps us keep games for youth sports running smoothly. Available year-round, various days/times. Safety Town Volunteer- Help incoming Kindergarteners learn the basics of safety during an exciting one week program offered each summer. Take a break to grab lunch, cool off, and soak in the lively park atmosphere before heading back out for more fun. It’s the perfect outing to make memories, share laughs, and enjoy a full day of family adventure together! Children must be accompanied by an adult. Orange Lions Tackle Football TeamFootballOrange Tackle Rookie Tackle Football - Grades 5 & 6 The Tackle Football program will return once again to compete in the Chagrin Valley Conference Rookie Tackle Football League. The youth tackle football team competes in a 7 on 7 format that is designed to give players an opportunity to participate in the game from many different positions. In partnership with the Cleveland Browns and the Chagrin Valley Conference, our goal is to teach the game in a safe and constructive football environment. The team will be coached by a parent volunteer coach, in partnership with the Orange High School varsity program. Equipment & Uniforms provided. Equipment pass-out will begin the week of August 10th. Starting SoonOrange Master's Swim TeamAquatics / Competitive SwimmingOrange Master swim team is open to adults (18+) who are interested in swimming competitively, are training for triathlons, or just want to work out with friends. This program has varying levels of workouts with a coach on deck to help with strokes and practice sets. Practices are twice a week and Saturday mornings. May's schedule is from May 2 - May 28 on Mondays and Wednesdays from 7:30 - 8:30 pm and Saturdays from 7:00 - 8:00 am. Practices on the week of May 25 are adjusted to Tuesday, May 26 and Thursday, May 28 from 7:30 - 8:30 pm. No practice on Saturday, May 30. Note: practices are scheduled to change.Spring/Summer 2026 -
Orange Outdoor Pool PassAquatics / Aquatics YearroundBuy an Outdoor pool pass. Our discounted pool passes are a great way for frequent swimmers to swim and save! Passes may be used for admission during any open swim session at the Outdoor Pool from May 30-31 and June 5 - August 16. Orange School District residents should bring proof of residency to receive the resident rate. The governess pass is only permitted to be used for a babysitter over 16 years old. Governess must be accompanied by the resident child(s) to gain access to the pool. The governess membership does not have guest privileges and can only be used by one person at a time. A governess pass needs to be purchased by one of the adult's of the family to connect the governess pass to that family. Orange Rec Fall Soccer LeagueSoccerWelcome to your Fall rec soccer league program. Practices are on Thursday's and led by volunteer coaches. Games will be played against neighboring communities on Saturday's. This is a great opportunity for kids to continue to learn the game and develop their soccer skills during practices as well as get the opportunity to play against other schools. Game times vary and will be released closer to the start of the season. All divisions will be broken up by genders.
