These sessions focus solely on improving technique, building confidence, and mastering the fundamentals—without any pressure to compete. Participants can expect meaningful progress and enhanced abilities in a supportive, skill-focused environment designed to prepare them for future sports success. After-School Skills Classes Rookie Sports Girls Volleyball Skills Grades 2 - 5 Join us for a new volleyball skills class, with a familiar coach! Coach Amanda from Rookie Sports will get participants to enhance their game before the volleyball season begins. Participants will learn essential volleyball skills such as, serving, setting, passing, and digging, with expert guidance. Location: Moreland Elementary School Gym ** Please be sure to mark your program in the school's Dismissal Manager on the day of the after school class your child is attending. Just simply put in the PM notes the sport your child is attending. This helps at dismissal time to ensure that everyone gets to where they need to be and we aren't holding up the buses. If your child will not be attending class that day please send an email to jmucci@orangecsd.org to let him know.Pick-Up will be at the Moreland Elementary Cafe 2 entrance by the playground at 4:30 pm. We will walk the kids out to the sidewalk and you can just pull up and pick up your child. If it is raining or cold out, we will send the kids out from inside when they see their car. If you will be having someone else pick up your child please let me know.Winter 2026 -
Sports Sampler (Gr. K-1)Active FunReady to try a new sport every week? Our Sports Sampler class is the perfect way for kindergarteners and 1st graders to explore a variety of sports in a fun, no pressure environment! Each week, kids will dive into a different activity, learning basic skills, playing exciting games, and discovering what they love. It's a fantastic opportunity to build coordination, teamwork, and confidence, all while having a blast! No class February 3. Students attending Moreland Hills Elementary school must update their SDM notes to attend the program. Students without an updated note will not be able to ride the Rec Bus. Any students who will not be attending a class must email knewman@orangecsd.org to confirm their absence.Winter 2026 -
Teen PickleballJust for TeensCome learn about the fastest growing sports in the US! Each week students will be taught the fundamentals of pickleball including forehand and backhand strokes, serving, returning the serve, etc. Students will engage in practice tasks each week to help them improve their skill abilities. Players will also be introduced to age-appropriate games that will keep them excited about playing the sport! Coaches will create a positive learning environment to help children have a great time while learning about a new sport!Winter 2026 -

Little Lions Parent / Child BasketballPreschool SportsThis will be a parent-child class, where both the child and parent can learn some different basketball skills and hopefully take some of the skills/drills home to continue developing a love for the game. This program provides students an opportunity to play the popular game in a safe and supervised environment. Our coaches will emphasize teamwork, cooperation, and proper sportsmanship. Each week will consist of different versions of dodgeball. Get ready to have a blast and make new friends in our after school extreme dodgeball class! No class February 2 and February 16. Power Play Gym Games (Gr. K-3)Active FunThe power play gym games class is a great way for students to burn off all that energy by playing their favorite games! The program is designed to bring the excitement of physical education and summer camp right into the after school hours. Experienced coaches will lead a variety of tag games, classic playground games like capture the flag and kickball, and much more! Coaches will create a safe environment that fosters teamwork and sportsmanship in this exciting class that will guarantee a fun and active time! No class February 4.
