Ceramic Beginners - Experienced - Tuesday MorningsCeramicsIn this invigorating course, beginner students learn basic wheel-throwing and handbuilding ceramic techniques used to create basic pottery forms such as mugs, bowls, and dishes. Experienced students can deepen their pottery knowledge and evolve their skills through various surface designs, forms, and glazing combinations using our new glazes. All supplies are provided, including 5 lbs of clay. Additional clay is available for purchase for $10 per 5 lbs, which includes glazes and OAC firing costs. Student artwork must be picked up within two weeks of the session ending. After that, unclaimed work may be discarded.Fall 2026 -
Ceramic + Pottery - Open Studio TuesdaysCeramicsOpen Studio is now available for Fall 2026 enrolled ceramics students on Mondays and Fridays! Join us for an open studio and get independent time to work on in-progress projects, experiment with glaze combinations, and decorate! No outside glazes or clay permitted; please use this time to continue working on your current OAC class projects. Clay disbursements are not provided at this time. A Studio Tech will be present if you have questions! The Open Studio is designed as a pay-as-you-go or purchase multiple sessions ahead in increments of $25 Residents/$29 Nonresidents.Fall 2026 -
Cartooning + Character Design - Saturday Afternoons (6-9): Fall IYoung ArtistsCartooning and character design, all in one fun class! This class is taught by a professional animator whose work has appeared for CBS Studios, Disney Channel, Marvel, and more! Students will learn to design iconic characters and the stories that bring them to life through group exercises, presentations, and self directed projects. They'll practice drawing characters with personality, expressions, and using color to set the mood. By the end of the class, each student will complete an individual project featuring their own character and story, shaped by their own interests and creativity. Live Figure Drawing - Monday Mornings: Fall IIDrawingLearn the fundamentals of figure drawing through direct observation of a live model. This course will cover timed poses ranging from quick 1–2 minute gestures to extended 20-minute studies. Students will develop their understanding of anatomy, proportion, and expressive line while working primarily in charcoal; other drawing mediums are welcome. The course includes clothed and nude modeling sessions in each class. All skill levels are welcome! A supply list will be emailed at the time of registration.
