Mix it Up Cooking (Gr. K-5)
Mix it Up is back—bigger, bolder, and tastier than ever with all new recipes! In this hands-on cooking class, kids of all levels step into the chef’s hat as they chop, mix, measure, and whip up their own delicious creations. They'll build kitchen confidence, expand their taste buds, learn real culinary terms, and make new foodie friends along the way! The fun doesn’t stop at the stove—kids will also enjoy food-themed games, crafts, and recipe-inspired activities that keep the culinary creativity going! It’s a delicious adventure from start to finish! *PLEASE NOTE: Some of our ingredients may include or have been produced in a factory with common allergens such as, but not limited to, soy, dairy, nuts, gluten, and egg. Students attending Moreland Hills Elementary school must update their SDM notes to attend the program. Students without an updated note will not be able to ride the Rec Bus. Ignite a passion for storytelling in our Creative Reading & Writing Series, a dynamic program designed to spark imagination and build confidence in learners of all ages. This series goes beyond the basics, blending thoughtful instruction with interactive, handson activities that make literature come alive. Students will explore a vast landscape of literature and media, including: Diverse Literary Forms: From nature-inspired poetry and imaginative fiction to biographies and meaningful letter writing; Practical & Creative Media: Engaging with unique formats like hands-on recipes to see how writing functions in the real world; Original Composition: Students will craft their own original pieces, discovering the joy of expressing their unique ideas in fresh, creative ways. By exploring a variety of writing styles, students will strengthen their literacy skills while developing a personal voice. Whether they are budding authors or just beginning their journey, this series offers a supportive space for every student to grow. Students attending Moreland Hills Elementary school must update their SDM notes to attend the program. Students without an updated note will not be able to ride the Rec Bus. Upcycle Academy Fashion Club
Join The Upcycle Academy for our one-of-a-kind enrichment program. In our spring session, we will create one-of-a-kind sweatshirts & sweatpants along with too cool for school accessories. Bright colors and optimistic graphic messaging make this a club we all want to be a part of. Spreading joy and positivity. We teach them step by step and lead them through the creative process. The curriculum is built on academic principles and real-world industry experiences. All materials, including recycled apparel, will be provided. Students keep the designs they create.
