    Orange Community Swim Team
    Aquatics / Competitive Swimming

Swimmers: take your mark: Go! Join this fun, learning swim team for beginners and intermediate swimmers. Swimmers should be able to easily swim multiple laps with recognizable strokes to join this program. All swimmers will get instruction on stroke development and work on starts, turns, and finishes to prepare swimmers for club swim teams and/or participation on their school swim teams. The beginner group will focus on fundamentals and will mainly center on freestyle and backstroke development. Prerequisites for this group is that swimmers have participated in swim lessons and have been introduced to freestyle and backstroke. Swimmers must be able to comfortably swim one length of the pool (25 yards) in freestyle. Swimmers will continue to develop freestyle and backstroke and be introduced to breaststroke and butterfly. The intermediate group's focus will be on stroke mechanics and technique for all four strokes. Advanced stroke mechanics and drills will be introduced. Additionally, these swimmers will also be given sets and workouts to improve their endurance. Perquisites for this group is that swimmers must be able to complete 50 yards of each of the following strokes: butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, and freestyle.
