Ceramic + Pottery - Open Studio Fridays
Ceramics Open Studio Fridays is now available for currently enrolled students. Join us for an open studio and get independent time to work on projects, experiment with glaze combinations, and decorate! No outside glazes or clay permitted; please use this time to continue working on your current OAC class projects. Clay disbursements are not provided at this time. A Studio Tech will be present if you have questions! The Open Studio is designed as a pay-as-you-go or purchase multiple sessions ahead in increments of $25. -
NEW! Relaxing Studio Flow Workshop
Unwind in this one-hour evening workshop designed to bring joy back into the painting process. Each session focuses on painting as a flow art, where the emphasis is on exploration and creativity rather than the final result. Students will engage in playful projects that spark child-like imagination while gently challenging the inner perfectionist. Along the way, participants will learn foundational painting techniques they can apply in a relaxed, supportive setting. Inspiration will also come from artists such as Alma Thomas and Hilma af Klint, whose distinctive styles celebrate color, pattern, and expression. Acrylic paint will be the main medium, with opportunities to experiment with watercolor, paint pens, and more. Take one workshop or all three: the choice is yours! Participants are encouraged to bring tea or a non-alcoholic beverage of their choice to enjoy while they paint. All skill levels welcome and all supplies provided. -
NEW! Valentine’s Date Night Workshop: Ceramic Underglaze Transfers
Looking for a Valentine’s date that’s not dinner and drinks? In this couples ceramics workshop, you'll create multiple small dishes together while learning underglaze transfer techniques to add color, imagery, and personal details. Your instructor guides you through each step in a relaxed studio setting, no experience needed. Limited to just 5 pairs of couples or friends, reserve your spot before they're gone! Artwork will be fired after the workshop, and finished pieces must be picked up approximately 2 to 3 weeks later. Participants will be notified by email when work is ready. Registration covers two participants. All supplies are provided. -
Chunky Hand Knit Blankets Workshop
All skill levels welcomed! Learn everything you need to know to make a gorgeous chunky hand-knit blanket in just a few hours! Guess what? No knitting experience is needed! We’ll guide you step-by-step through this and will support you with all the tricks to master the skill of creating chunky blankets just using your hands. A supply list will be emailed at the time of registration. Approximate supply cost, depending on materials already owned: $60. -
NEW! Family Studio Workshop: Folk Art Winter Trees on Canvas
This workshop is designed for one adult and one child in grades 1–5 to attend together! Working as a team, artists will create a single mixed media painting inspired by folk art tree designs. They’ll explore tree imagery, experiment with tissue paper dye transfer, and paint a swirling winter background. Then they’ll cut, decorate, and arrange their own colorful trees on canvas, adding snow to complete the scene. It’s a fun and creative way to spend time together, and you’ll leave with a unique piece to hang at home! Registration covers both participants. All supplies provided. -
