Open Studio Fridays are now available for currently enrolled students. Join us for an open studio and get independent time to work on projects, experiment with glaze combinations, and decorate! No outside glazes or clay permitted; please use this time to continue working on your current OAC class projects. Clay disbursements are not provided at this time. A Studio Tech will be present if you have questions! The Open Studio is designed as a pay-as-you-go or purchase multiple sessions ahead in increments of $25 Residents/$29 Nonresidents. No class on May 25.

In this one-day illustration techniques workshop, students will explore texture as a powerful storytelling tool in image-making. Using inks, paint, and a variety of unconventional tools, participants will experiment with mark-making, layering, and surface to create a richly textured landscape illustration. Emphasis is placed on process, play, and discovery as students learn how texture can suggest mood, movement, and environment. This class is open to all levels and encourages creative experimentation—no prior illustration experience required. Supplies are provided.

Unwind in this one-hour evening family-style workshop designed to bring joy back into the painting process! Each session focuses on painting as a flow art, where the emphasis is on exploration and creativity rather than the final result. Students will engage in playful projects that spark child-like imagination while gently challenging the inner perfectionist. Along the way, participants will learn foundational painting techniques with opportunities to experiment with watercolor, paint pens, and more. Participants are encouraged to bring tea or a non-alcoholic beverage of their choice to enjoy while they paint. Registration includes one adult and one child in grades 6 - 9. All skill levels welcome and all supplies provided.

Participants will dive into the world of Paper Crafting by creating vibrant blooming paper flower pots that bring life to any space throughout the seasons. You will learn a step-by-step process that guides you through selecting the right materials, sealing techniques, and valuable insights into color combinations, textures, and design principles. Whether you are a seasoned crafter or a beginner, you’ll leave with a beautiful, handcrafted arrangement that never wilts. All supplies provided.

Use scrapers, rags, and solvents to carefully remove oil paint and reveal a monochromatic painting hiding underneath. A playful introduction to oil painting that flips the process on its head, perfect for anyone wanting to ease into the medium without the pressure of building up layers from scratch. This painter-designed studio setting will inspire you as you explore the world of painting with oils. As drawing skills are needed, OAC offers a variety of drawing classes to choose from. All painters are welcome in this open studio environment. Enroll in additional sessions to further develop your skills. A supply list will be emailed at the time of registration. Approximate supply cost, depending on materials already owned: $180.
